I have always loved Halloween! It is just a silly, fun holiday with no pressure to give gifts or to cook fancy meals. You just get to dress up, carve pumpkins, get free candy and just have an all around good time.
As much as I've always enjoyed Halloween, I've never enjoyed it more than this year. Having Ellie here just makes it so much more fun. Seeing her in her little lion costume made this the best Halloween ever!
Once of my favorite parts of Halloween is the pumpkin carving tradition. With Lance gone, I have quite a bit of spare time on my hands, so I think I went a little overboard and overdosed myself on pumpkin carving. I have the sore fingers to prove it too. I carved 10 pumpkins (see pictures below) that took 2 days to complete. It did make a pretty spectacular scene on my parent's front porch for all the little trick-or-treaters that came by.
THIS PICTURE IS JUST FOR DADDY!
We love you and miss you!!
(Grandma took this picture, she obviously doesn't know how to center a picture)

The whole grand kid bunch!

Ellie loved her little costume. She loved how soft it was and spent most of the night touching the soft fur. She was adorable!

She even had her best growl going to show her lion character. She has always been a growler, funny that it just made this costume all the more fun.

One of 10 pumpkins, this was my favorite.

All lit up!

Who knew you were a Master Carver?! Ellie does look adorable! She always seems to be so happy in her pictures...lucky Mom. I'm glad you had a fun Halloween.
p.s. Did I tell you that I've been back to your old RJH stompin'ground a few times this year?
I am impressed with the pumpkin carving. We are lucky to get one pumpkin carved with the orginal jack-o-lantern face. What a cute costume Ellie had.
Wow, your pumpkins are rockin'. I had no idea you had such skills. As you probably saw from my Halloween post, the best we can come up with is some freakish, sloppy, Cyclops. Yours kick our butt any day.
Also, sorry, I just responded to your post from a week or two ago. I'm a doof, what can I say.
Dear Amy,
Ellie is the cutest kid in the world! And those pumpkins rock my world.
Love,
Mand'e
